Are you a curly-haired guy or gal desperate for someone to truly understand your locks? Beauty Company knows that no two curls are the same, and we’re proud to have a DevaCurl specialist in-house. Our talented stylist LeeAnne (who has quite the curls herself) has been expertly trained to cut the curliest of hair. Book a DevaCut with her – this takes about 30 minutes longer than a traditional haircut, and is $60. LeeAnne will analyze your hair dry, make some snips, shampoo you with Deva’s No Poo, make additional corrections while your hair is wet, place you under the hooded dryer, and finish with your hair dry again. This is not a specific haircut, but rather a technique (curls are cut at an angle to not disrupt patters, each curl is cut individually, etc) and is designed to manage difficult curls. DevaCut makes a world of difference to someone who has never had a great curly cut before! Book your DevaCut with LeeAnne today, she can’t wait to meet you!

Perfecting a blowout is tough. Need guidance? Follow one simple rule – the bigger the barrel, the straighter the hair. Seems easy, right? Read on for more expert opinions.
Boar bristle is well-known for a reason. It’s soft texture is gentle on hair and won’t tug locks. It also helps natural oils distribute evenly from scalp to ends.
Nylon bristle wick water quickly and produce a rapid blowout. Choose a ceramic center (heats up quickly) for the ultimate time saver.
Try combination boar and nylon for the perfect brush. The gentle effect is easy on locks while the nylon encourages hair to dry quickly.
Size matters. Use a small barrel round brush to give soft wavy curl. Use large barrels to smooth long or unruly hair into sleek locks. Repeat after me, The bigger the barrel, the straighter the hair!
Anxious to try your own? Beauty Company has a fabulous selection of round brushes. Our stand out favorites are Spornette (absolutely something for everyone!), Monroe (nice and descriptive on each label, you simply can’t pick the wrong one) and di Prima (European-style boar bristle). Ask our expert team for help choosing the perfect brush, they love to make recommendations!

We are thrilled to be having Bumble&Bumble Northeast educator Corinna coming to Beauty Company in early May to teach a design (cutting) class for our stylists! Corinna is immensely talented and her bubbly energy is infectious (in a great way)! Read an interview with Corinna (below) to learn more about the fabulous skills she’ll be teaching our team.
Corinna
Bumble.Educator
Career History
I was always a hairdresser, before I knew what I wanted to be. I used to do makeovers on my friends and take before and afters. I wouldn’t just change their hair – their makeup and clothes would change, too. I loved it. I trained at Vidal Sassoon for about a year (super intense!) I moved to another salon and became their Network Educator and discovered Bumble & Bumble’s different approach to cutting. I was hooked and decided to immerse myself in it by moving to New York to work for the company. I have grown so much and am still learning every day. Now, I am a Bumble. Educator for the Northwest and am happy to back hope representing New York City.
What is your craziest story from working backstage?
Watching Liza Minelli perform New York, New York on a runway. I couldn’t believe my eyes!
Where do you find your inspiration?
Walking around just people watching. I am good at it, I don’t miss a thing!
What gave you the desire to become a hairdresser?
A woman named Colette. I was referred to her by someone who had cool hair. I called to book an appointment and she didn’t have an opening for two months so I waited. She was full of life and had such great energy. She said that doing hair was play and going home was work. she traveled sometimes for three months at a time and always came back to a full book. I told her maybe I’d do hair while I go to school to do something else and she said, “No! Just do hair. Go for it!” I left her salon, called some beauty schools and started later the next week.
What is your favorite era in hairdressing and why?
The ’40s, late ’60s and late ’70s- because the hair was super sexy.
What attracted you to Bumble & Bumble?
It made sense. Also, the people were super down to earth and humble.
What is your favorite bad hair moment?
My freshman year hair. I only did the front – the back didn’t matter, apparently.
What has been the greatest moment of your career?
Teach my first Bumble.LIVE class on my own.
What aspect of hairdressing do you most enjoy?
Making someone look better and feel better.

Dry, flaky scalp and hair problems can be miserable. While the cause can be skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, oftentimes smaller issues such as climate change, stress, hormones, diet, low-quality shampoos, hard water and many other factors can affect your scalp. Beauty Company is now offering the Ultimate Scalp treatment to relieve a dry, flaky scalp. While this treatment will not work to solve serious skin conditions, it will provide relieve to those who tend to itch. This treatment rids the scalp of dry skin and allows natural oils to spread through the hair. It hydrates and softened dry, damaged and distressed tresses. Read on to learn more about the treatment and visit our website to book your appointment today!
This treatment begins with a scientific brushing to stimulate and exfoliate the scalp. Intensive skin and hair oil is heated then applied to repair and moisturize the scalp. The hair is then cleansed with a gentle cream followed by a deep conditioning treatment. A light leave-in oil is applied, and a blow dry finishes the look.
This treatment incorporates many products, including Enjoy Haircare, Bumble & Bumble, DevaCurl, Redken and Bamboo by Alterna. Each treatment takes 1 hour to complete and should be done every 4-6 weeks for optimal results.

Sulfate-free shampoos are all the rage these days. So what’s the deal?
Sulfates are the cleansing agents found in many cleansing products – including shampoos. Sulfates work as a lathering agent, sudsing up your locks in the shower.
The cold hard facts: your hair does NOT need to lather in order to clean your hair. While using a low-lather or no-lather shampoo will feel different, use a regular amount of shampoo with each wash and your hair will end up just as clean.
Keep in mind, there are “good” sulfates as well – high quality sulfates are not stripping of hair color. Brands such as Bumble & Bumble stand behind their sulfates (though they recently came out with a sulfate-free shampoo as well). Read on for some of Beauty Company’s favorites.
Alterna Every shampoo they make is free of sulfates, sodium chloride, parabens, and a slew of other “not so great” ingredients. One of the truly eco-sustainable lines on the market.
BioMega All three shampoos (Volume, Moisture & Silk) that this line makes are free of harsh sulfates & sodium chloride, making them ideal for those with keratin straightening treatments
Terax This luxury Italian line produces five shampoos, all of which are sulfate free (and just one condition – Crema – that makes every hair type swoon!)
Pureology Pioneers of sulfate-free style with their “anti-fade” technology, Pureology shampoos have always been free of sulfates
DevaCurl Perfect for curly locks (which tend to be dry) this their low-lathering Low Poo and zero-lathering No Poo contain zip in terms of harsh cleansers.
Enjoy Formulated to be PH-balanced, Enjoy never uses sulfates in their shampoos

*All of the above mentioned lines never use sulfates. However, other brands are selectively getting on the bandwagon. Such as…
Paul Mitchell The new Awaphui line has straightening keratin (and smells deliciously like wild ginger)
Bumble & Bumble The new Straight shampoo (meant to correspond with their new Straight salon treatment) is free of sulfates (and makes your hair stick straight when used together!)

Our ultra-chic stylist Celeste is an ombre and balayage master. This color service is similar to a traditional highlight, but applied slightly differently. Rather than having the highlights focused on your crown (near your face) the lighter strands are woven through the back of your hair. This style is intended for long, wavy hair (if you don’t have natural wave, you should style it in that manner). Celebs like Jessica Biel, Drew Barrymore and Hilary Duff have perfected the look. Book a partial highlight with Celeste today and rock this au natural trend!
