It is important to wash your face once in the morning and two times at night! This removes the make-up, dirt, oils, sweat and environmental pollution from your face. Then all you need are the three products: moisturizer, SPF, and eye cream. If you start eye cream at a young age you will thank me!
The Perfect Pony:
To get “the perfect pony” use a lightweight mousse and a boar bristle brush. Our favorite boar bristle brush is the Mason Pearson brush. Brush your hair back so it is smooth with no lines. Pull hair up and use an elastic to secure hair. Voila, you have the perfect pony! (Note: A medium hold hairspray is optional afterward).
To Brighten up Blondes:
Use a purple or violet shampoo, sometimes called a “blue shampoo“ to cut the brassy gold tones out of your hair. It instantly bumps up and brightens, your color! If nervous, you can mix the shampoo with your regular shampoo. Believe us, it works!
No Time to Wash Hair?:
If you are in a rush, you can use a very small amount of baby powder on the roots of your hair (in place of dry shampoo). It must be massaged into your scalp with your fingers. Be careful though, you don’t want to use too much!
The Sexy Beach Hair Look:
If you want the beach look, but don’t have the styling product, a great home remedy is plain old water and sea salt. Mix the two together and put in a spray bottle. Spray onto damp hair and use your fingers to “scrunch it.” You will end up walking out of the house with that last minute sexy summer beach hair.
Clarify or deep cleanse every 7 shampoos
You should give your hair a really good cleanse once a week (Sunday is always a good day) by using a clarifying shampoo. This will get all the “gunk” from the styling products you have used during the last week out of your hair. If your hair is colored, make sure the clarifying shampoo is color safe. Also, this is a good time to do a hair treatment like a mask or an emergency pack on your hair!
How to Pump up Baby Fine Hair:
Use a lightweight mousse to bulk up and add density to hair. Keep products light-weight.
How Pump up Fine to Medium Hair:
For fine to medium hair use volumizing gels and firm hold mousses to bulk up your hair. Try to apply to roots only and remember not to use any heavy gels, creams or oils because they tend to weigh hair down!
Protect Your Hair When Styling with Heat!:
When using flat irons and curling irons using a thermal spray can be very helpful. Thermal sprays help not only to set the style but also protect your hair against heat damage. Some sprays have a slight oil base and this is good because they help give your hair shine and protect your hair from frizzing up due to the humidity! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PROTECT YOUR HAIR FROM HEAT!!!!
How to Straighten Fine to Medium Hair:
Fine to medium hair requires using either a lightweight crème or blow dry lotion to help straighten hair. Put either product, whichever works better for you, into damp hair and blow out using a round brush, section by section, and your hair will look smooth and silky!
How to Straighten Curly, Frizzy Hair:
Curly hair needs a strong straightening gel or smoothing cream before blow dry. Use a round brush and blow dry straight. Let the styling product do most of the work. Once hair is 90 percent dry, add an oil based shine lotion or serum and seal in with heat. This will make hair shiny and smooth!
To Make Hair Shiny:
Hair serums are the best to make your hair shiny! Use them at the end of the blow dry and seal in product with heat. You can also use a shine spray after blow drying! If you have baby fine hair stay away from shine sprays and serums! It would be best for you to use a shine shampoo or conditioner.
Products that every girl (or guy) Need:
1. Aerosol Hairspray: Spray on roots for volume, apply it to damp hair for texture and hold, or spray it all over to finish the look!
2. Dry Shampoo: The best invention ever! Makes your blow out last up to one week! You can use on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th day, all the way up to seven days… but that’s pushing it. It adds volume and soaks up oil making your hair look clean and just done.
